Swindon Foodbank Donations
A big thank you to all the children and adults who donated to the Food Bank collections during Lent. As this has been so successful, and the Food Bank is now in desperate need of donations, we have decided to continue collecting. If you are able to bring one item of food with you to church services it would be gratefully appreciated.
Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) Update:
At our Annual Parochial meeting, Karen Vermeersch and Simon Dabbs were elected as churchwardens for the coming year. Frances Grimshaw and Susan Smith were both elected to the PCC for the next 3 years – Frances for the first time and Susan being re-elected. We are very grateful to Simon, Frances and Susan for being willing to take on these roles. Having a strong PCC who can help to lead St Andrew’s is vital and we are very grateful to all our PCC members for serving in this way. Particular mention should be made of Bridget Penrose-Lyall, Peter Smith and Tina Thorpe who have just finished their time on PCC. Thank you.
We still have vacancies for PCC and Deanery Synod members so, if you would be interested in finding out more and being co-opted, please speak to the clergy or churchwardens.

AT St Francis School, 5pm on Sunday 25th June, following the All Age Service. Tickets available from Lyn Jones until Sunday 18th June. This is a FREE event; however there is a suggested donation of £3 for adults and £1 for children, to be given on the day.
Mark Tidey is being ordained as a deacon in Bristol Cathedral on Saturday 1st July in the afternoon, prior to becoming the curate at Stratton St Margaret. If you would like to attend the service, you could join the coach going from St Mary's Rodbourne Cheney. Please let Sally know and she will pass your details on.
For June and July (at least) the pattern of provision for the children will be: Sunday School on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays of the month and an unstaffed creche on the 4th Sunday. The Children's Service will continue as normal. Once School Holidays begin (from Sunday 30th July) there will be children's activities outside every week instead (except for the Children's Service on Sunday 6th August)
If you missed the prayer sheet for Ascension Day to Pentecost, please do pick one up and pray through it any time during June.
We are hosting a confirmation service at St Andrew's on Sunday 17th September at 6:30 pm. Confirmation is described on the Church of England website as 'the point in the Christian journey at which you affirm for yourself the faith into which you have been baptized and your intention to live a life of committed discipleship. This affirmation is confirmed through prayer and the laying on of hands by the confirming bishop. The Church also asks God to give you power through the Holy Spirit to enable you to live in the way of Jesus." If you haven't been confirmed it's a really good opportunity to think about your faith and consider whetyer you feel ready to pass this point. We hope to run some informal discussion groups - one for young people and one for adults - so please speak to Sally and Phil if you are even vaguely interested.
St Francis School: Tuesdays 9-10am in the Community Room
Tadpole Farm School: Wednesday, 9-10am in the Community Room.
Parents, carers and pre-school children welcome.
