Changes to Evening Services in September
We have had to change our evening services in September.  Please note that BCP Holy Communion will be on Sunday 10th September at 6:30 pm and on Sunday 17th September we will be hosting a Confirmation Service.

Would you like to be confirmed?
We are hosting a confirmation service at St Andrew's on Sunday 17th September at 6:30 pm.  Confirmation is described on the Church of England website as "the point in the Christian journey at which you affirm for yourself the faith into which you have been baptized and your intention to live a life of committed discipleship.  This affirmation is confirmed through prayer and the laying on of hands by the confirming bishop.  The Church also asks God to give you power through the Holy Spirit to enable you to live in the way of Jesus."  If you haven't been confirmed it's a really good opportunity to think about your faith and consider whether you feel ready to pass this point.  We hope to run some informal discussion groups - one for young people and one for adults - so please speak to Sally and Phil if you are even vaguely interested.

Facebook
If you're a Facebook user, but haven't liked the St Andrew's page, please do so, as we often post useful information and reminders.

CHURCH MAINTENANCE MORNING

Saturday 9th September at St Andrew's Church.  Breakfast will be provided.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

For June and July (at least) the pattern of provision for the children will be:  Sunday School on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays of the month and an unstaffed creche on the 4th Sunday.  The Children's Service will continue as normal.  Once School Holidays begin (from Sunday 30th July) there will be children's activities outside every week instead (except for the Children's Service on Sunday 6th August)

Fairtrade Threat

As St Andrew's is a church that supports Fair Trade, are you aware that Sainsbury's, the biggest supermarket supporter of Fair Trade with its own goods, is attempting to renegotiate with its FairTrade suppliers and pull out of the FairTrade agreement?  If you would like to read more and Sign the Petition please click the link.
