Our Mission: to look outwards to the world and to be generous in the name of Christ
We believe that Christianity can transform not just individual lives, by giving people a sense of purpose and direction, but that it can also transform communities and structures. To that end we look outwards to the world to see how we can make a difference for good.
We believe that God wants everyone to live in peace, with a fair share of the world’s resources and with access to the basic necessities of life – food, water, shelter, education, health care and opportunity, regardless of race, gender and status.
We take as our inspiration Jesus’ words recorded in St Matthew’s gospel (Chapter 25 verses 31-46) to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, welcome the stranger, visit the sick and those in prison.
“Whatever you do to the least of these, you do to me” Matthew 25 v40
We support financially and practically a number of initiatives as a church and as church members: these support some of the most vulnerable people in society.
We give away 10% of our known income every year to support mission and charitable work: locally, nationally and internationally. In addition there are special collections during the year designated for particular causes.
