The Church of England has a long and proud history in Education and church schools started because Christians believed that poor children, not just those whose parents could afford to pay for schooling, were worth educating. As members of the Church of England we are committed to serving the local community and one of the ways in which we do this, is by providing excellent education which seeks to enable every child to fulfil her or his potential.
The clergy work closely with the Headteachers and Governing Bodies of the Church of England School in our parish to ensure that the Christian ethos and spiritual foundations of the schools are strong and embedded in every aspect of school life. We also support the RE curriculum, take collective worship, offer pastoral care and are genuinely part of the school communities.
Every school has a set of values to live by, but in a Church School we look to Holy Scripture and the Christian tradition for their source and inspiration.
