Bible Study group

Sally writes -

The Bible Study group meets twice a month to study the Bible in detail.  We started in the Autumn with Paul’s letter to the Philippians from the New Testament, then looked at what the Bible says about some big questions such as “How do I hear God?” and “Loving one another, easier said than done?” and now we are studying the early chapters of Genesis.  We ask lots of questions, get distracted by interesting side issues, share what the passage is saying to each of us and how it connects with life today.

Everyone is welcome to join with lots or little Bible knowledge.  We meet at 10am and 7pm (same passage each time, you don’t have to come twice!) at 15 Rackham Close on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month – though always check our email newsletter/news page on the website as occasionally the time or location changes.

Here's what two members said:

“Our Bible study group is friendly and informal. No question is too small to ask, and our discussions are lively and inciteful and often go off at a tangent!

I have learnt so much from everyone who has attended. Sometimes another view point suddenly makes sense. However, I think the biggest advantage of studying together is just that. You learn together and help each other get more from the Bible than you would on your own.

I'd definitely recommend you give it a go.”

“I have been attending Bible study group since February so just a short time but would like to share my enjoyably personal experience. From my first meeting I felt so welcomed and part of the group: Sally gave me such a warm welcomed into her home with coffee. The sessions are relaxed but with a good structure.

Sally and Martina lead interesting sessions with readings from the Bible that the group interact and share their own thoughts which often take us into great discussions comparing readings with life today and its challenges with the guidance of God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

I have really enjoyed the meetings were mindful music is played which gives a calm quiet time to reflect.

I joined the Bible study group to learn more about my faith and the Bible, I have found so much personal gain which gives me strength and guidance with my life. “
