What's Happening at St Andrew's?

If you've been to St Andrew's recently you might have noticed scaffolding up at the west end of the church.

This is because we have a problem with one of our bells, meaning we've only been able to ring one for some time now. During the first two weeks of November, our bell repairer will be undertaking repairs and sprucing up the bells.

The main problem is with the bigger of the two bells - the left hand one as you look from near the church door. The rod that runs out from the bell and that is connected to the inside of the church by a cable has bent upwards. This means that when the bell is rung, unless it's done very carefully, the rod hits the stonework above.

Once the repairs are complete, we will have both bells in action again.
