Swindon Deanery Synod elections

Are you a potential Deanery Synod Representative?

  • Do you long to see more people loving Jesus and serving Him alongside us?
  • Can you see how we can be brave, open, generous and creative as we work together to advance God’s kingdom in Swindon?
  • Do you love the church in Swindon and want to see it flourish?

If so, please consider standing for Deanery Synod at your church's Annual Parochial Church Meeting.

Deanery Synod is part of the synodical system of the Church of England giving clergy and lay people the opportunity to contribute to the life and mission of the wider church.  In Swindon Deanery we meet 4 times a year on different weekday evenings to discuss issues which impact parish life and the ways we can cooperate to be more effective in our mission.  In the next few years we will be considering how we can embed the new diocesan strategy, Transforming Church. Together, in our deanery and transform our mission to be more united across the whole town.

We need Deanery Synod reps who are committed to the work of their own parish and have a heart to see this flourish by working with others across the deanery for the good of all.  We are aware that each parish context is different, but we are all seeking to serve the same Lord and reach people who live, work and play across many different parishes.

Will you represent your church on Deanery Synod?

Your parish parish will have between 1 and 5 vacancies for Deanery Synod reps (depending on the number of people on the Electoral Roll).
